Post. Like, Every Single Day.

One of the issues with social media is the intense pressure to be crisp, presented, and perfect.

Perfectionism. It’s a slippery slope, especially for businesses that often leads them down a garden path to simply not posting.

And to not post is death to business for social media.

I see some great ads every single day. From hundreds of different companies on my Facebook. Whether they be promoted posts, posts from their pages, or other, I am bombarded by business demanding my attention.

But I couldn’t name who they are off the top of my head if you held a gun to it.

Why? Because they’re simply not there often enough.

I see so many businesses post a seriously amazing post. It has everything. Great copy, a great infographic, and a spectacular call to action.

And then?

Well, nothing. I don’t see them again. They get pushed away in my ever updating newsfeed and I don’t hear from them again.

The businesses that I do see constantly, are those who are posting constantly, even when it doesn’t seem like it’s doing anything. Once a day, every day. Some kind of post about what is going on in their lives.

It doesn’t have to be pretty. I only recently saw a post taken from an iPhone with a half-decent filter over the top for a dentist.

But then I saw them post the next day with a brand new photo.

And the following day a post about why flossing is even important.

And I was hooked.

I went to their page, checked out their content. And they were active.

They had posted every single day for the last 6 months. And every single day, regardless of what it was,

was real.

And I absorbed it. I gave them a like.

Now they’re my dentist.

I cannot stress enough to businesses, especially small businesses, about the absolute necessity it is to be posting on social media every single day.

We at 5PM get it.

It’s hard to post every single day. Something new and fresh and looks crisp.

Which is why we don’t. Not for our clients, and certainly not for us.

We post every single day. No matter if it’s not perfect, or beautiful, or makes us look like we’re the best brand in the world.

Because the best brands in the world are posting every day.

If you’re a small business, and you’re struggling to get your social media up and going, then send us a message. Our contact details are on this website.

Because there’s a lot more that goes into great posting than posting every day.

But it’s a start that you may not have been even aware of.

Catch you guys on the next one.
